Share Our Vision. Express Your Support.
DAI (www.dai.com), the international development project management consulting firm, provided the initial seed funding to launch the Development Practitioners Forum in January 2009. That seed funding was provided with the expectation that the Forum would raise from external private and public sources the necessary funds to sustain its work, both for the near and long term.
Now, the Forum is working to raise the major grants needed to primarily fund its start-up phase in 2010 and 2011. But it is also working to build a broad base of support critical to the sustainability of any organization. Having that broad base of support sends an important message to the current and prospective major funders of the organization. The message is that you — whether a practitioner, member of the broader development aid assistance community, or interested member of the global community — share the Forum’s passion for and belief in the vision of a world where empowered practitioners produce better development outcomes, and have chosen to make an investment in the organization. And your investment makes a difference in a young organization with a relatively small operating budget.
If you believe:
- In the power of a globally networked practitioner community sharing knowledge, leveraging each other’s experience, and accelerating the dissemination of best practices; and
- The potential of this bottom-up approach to achieving more sustainable, scalable development outcomes to benefit the people in the world’s poorest countries, then:
The Development Practitioners Forum is a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions to the Development Practitioners Forum are U.S. tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
